Typical Caribbean and Colonial Style Architecture

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The photos highlight typical roof designs that compliment Caribbean and Colonial style architecture. These roofing style can be a combination of hip and gable or in many instances just one on it own. These types of roofing material can vary but most popular are the aluminum aluzinc sheeting and asphalt shingle fitted to timber frame rafters, lath and ply wood. The clay roofing is also used but not as popular since it initial cost is very high, but it is very durable and also enhance the aesthetics of the building. The steel roofing is seldom used, since coastal erosion is very common and increase maintenance cost. Durable timber frame initial cost can be expensive but the maintenance cost is low thus making more popular than steel frame roofing system.
